Madrid’s Broadway

Some of the city’s great theatres are packed into barely a kilometre of Gran Vía and its side streets. From Lumen, most of them are less than a ten-minute walk away, so you can enjoy a relaxed dinner, see the show and stroll back to the hotel.

The Lion King, the must-see classic

At the Teatro Lope de Vega, five minutes from the hotel, The Lion King is still the most-watched musical on Gran Vía. The opening, with the animals parading through the stalls, is reason enough to sit by the centre aisle. For the full experience, our package includes two preferred-seating tickets and a cocktail on the Rooftop before the show.

How to choose your seats

  • Centre stalls, rows 8 to 15: the best balance between view and sound.
  • Front row of the dress circle: perfect for taking in the whole choreography.
  • Avoid the far sides for shows with large sets.
  • Weekday evening performances usually have better prices.

Before and after the show

Arrive at the theatre 30 minutes early to collect your tickets and find your seat without rushing. Beforehand, a vermouth at the Lumen Rooftop; afterwards, dinner at our restaurant, open until 11:30 pm. And if you need help with tickets, the hotel concierge will book them for you.
